Made this a few years back. Found a random copy so I figured why not post it up, since people still ask me for copies of this. Grab the mix
on some back story shit:
Balie Funk made me digital! For real! At the time I made these mega-mixes I was strictly a vinly only DJ. Didn’t even buy Cd’s; only music I could play out on turntables. I never got on-line much, didn’t file share or nothing cause I had no use for digital music. Well then I got all excited by finding archives of Balie Funk tunes online and I really wanted to play them out, so I just made some megamixes to throw in the CD players at the clubs I dj’ed at. Didn’t burn individual tracks cause I never could mix with CDJ’s-still can’t. Well people liked the music asked me for copies and soon enough I was making these CDs to sell. In the end I used the money I made from these CDs to invest in my first laptop and convert my whole DJ lifestyle. So Balie Funk really did make me digital. Strange and convoluded but true.
Now a days you can get CD compilations of this music and even buy 12″s too. So if you dig this buy some of the official releases and help get some money into the original artists hands.
